location: Vienna
hotel: The Guest House Hotel
In the middle of June I spent one week in Vienna and the Guest House Hotel was my first stop.
Despite the fact that I'm Sagittarius and I love to travel, I also feel a little bit sad whenever I'm apart from my family and home. Yes, I'm one of those crazy people who are skyping everyday. So, one of my favorite hotel types are those who are claiming that they are "home away from home". And that's exactly how you will feel if you stay at the Guest House Hotel Vienna.
"Be a guest in your own house!" is a philosophy of this new design hotel which opened its doors in last October (2013.). Surrounded by magnificent Viennese buildings, narrow streets and alleys this cute little hotel has the ideal location to discover some of the best places in Vienna. Together with the Brasserie & Bakery on the ground floor, the hotel is also open to the city's residents creating an inspiring mix of hotel guest and locals.
Highlights
- prime location between the State Opera and Stephanplatz in the quiet neighborhood
- sublime aesthetics by Sir Terrence Conran who combined trends, comfort and functionality into a unique style applied in every room
- ability to welcome guests to your room for a coffee or dinner just like at home
- stunning room view of the Albertina Museum
- reading nook in a room
- spacious bathroom with rainforest shower, additional bathtub and separated toilet
- handmade Lederhaas soaps and Molton Brown beauty products
- complimentary WiFi
Food and drinks
- fresh breads and pastries come from the in-house Brasserie & Bakery in cooperation with the award winning wood oven baker Gragger & Cie
- breakfast is available throughout the day
- coffee is a custom roast made exclusively for the Guest House Hotel Vienna by Naber Kaffee
- every guest room has an espresso maker and wine refrigerator
- coffee, wine, beer and non-alcoholic refreshments are free of charge so you can easily get drunk in your own room ;)
People
- super kind and helpful staff will fulfill all your requests
- they will not laugh to your old and almost forgotten German language skills ;)
- and they will give you the best tips for new and hot spots in downtown (thank you Denise) :).
Price
- the price is similar to most of the design hotels but be sure to check their offer and special packages through their own website or Designhotels.com
Experience
It's cozy and sophisticated hotel with homelike ambience which makes this modern boutique place ideal for temporary city dwellers. Comfort, style and luxury in one package.
You will feel like at home. You will feel honesty. You will feel the heritage.
p.s. in the next post I will share the best spots around the Guest House Hotel!
