And today we are continuing with my guide to Vienna (check the first one here).
25hours hotel at Museumsquartier was my second start point so here are some tips while you in this neighborhood!
Must see
Museumsquartier - art and food united in the largest inner-city cultural space. Place where you can relax with pavement cafes, fountains and the cult Enzos (furniture designed for lounging in the sun) surrounded by:
Museum of Modern Art (mumok) - the largest museum in Central Europe for art since modernism
The Leopold Museum - one of the world's most important assemblages of Austrian art
and the Kunsthalle - so be sure to visit at least one of these museums.
Naschmarkt - Vienna’s best-known market has around 120 market stands and restaurants for a colorful culinary offering ranging from Viennese to Indian, from Vietnamese to Italian. The Naschmarkt has developed into a meeting point for young and old.
Must eat/drink
Café Drechsler - place where tradition meets a stylish and modern atmosphere
On Market - you will love the colorful textile artworks
Brass Monkey - cute little cupcake shop
Ulrich - try Flat pizza here
Café Leopold - hip and modern place at MQ
Pure Living Bakery - cute bakery
Corbaci - lovely interior with oriental vibes
Must be
Dachboden 25Hours - by day or night, you will love this place!
Halle - in the evening hours at MQ, have a drink or two
Puff, die Bar
Must shop
despite the fact that the Mariahilfer Straße is considered as the most important shopping street, I don't like it, especially not during the hot summer day! I would rather visit several concept stores like Park or Ostform and skip the shopping in this area.
At least you can do is to buy something to eat or drink at lovely place Feinkoch. ;)
And while you in town, be sure to visit Imperial Vienna too! Stroll along the splendid baroque Schönbrunn and Belvedere Palaces. Don't forget the Zoo which is the oldest existing zoo in the world!
p.s. didn't want to carry my camera cause we were strolling up and down all day long, but I'm preparing also the third part with tons of photos, so be ready for that! ;) All places are linked and you can check them with one click!
